from the heart, Molly's Adventures, summer

forward 2016

This past week I was at a youth conference in Duluth, GA, hosted by Free Chapel church. It was such an amazing and life changing experience, I know that sounds totally cliché but it is so true. I went with an amazing youth group that is led by some of the best leaders and youth pastor. I had the privilege to grow closer to some of my best friends and meet new friends along the way.

On the first night, Hillsong Young & Free opened up the night with such a powerful worship set. We jumped, cried and praised our God. Robert Madu brought the word later that night, he talked about how God wants to put us on display for others to see God in us and that the “I” has got to die and we need to look to God in our situations. That night we had a great small group and talked about the message, even though we were all barely awake.

The next morning we were all up bright and early for our morning session which included Y&F and two amazing messages from Peter Toggs and Dawncheré Wilkerson. Peter Toggs is the youth pastor of Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia. He spoke about our struggles and that we need to praise God in every situation. The biggest lines that stuck out to me were these, “when life catches you by surprise, let a song arise” & “there is a song in your story and a story in your song.” Through the tears, disaster, trial & tragedy, we should always sing to God, and praise Him for everything he has done. We all too often forget that God loves us and that Jesus died for us and all of our sins.

“Sing to God a new song, sing to the Lord, all the earth” Psalm 96:1

All of the messages were so amazing and God was there and moving in everyone’s hearts throughout the whole conference. My favorite moments were when all 13,000 people were singing and praising Jesus. Hearing all of the voices gave me the chills, I was in such awe of what God was doing.

Along the way, we also had so much fun bonding and getting to know each other, you really get close in the same van with the same 7 people for 8 hours. 😉 Telling stories, making jokes and singing together was so much fun! I really believe that God puts the right people with you at the right moments. I can’t thank our van leaders enough for putting up with 6 best friends for the whole weekend!

On the last day, we went to Free Chapel church in Gainesville, GA. Pastor Jentezen Franklin preached about our dreams and that we can’t wait to chase after them and that we can’t just sit on the sidelines watching other people try to achieve their dreams, but that we need to stand up and help. “When you get involved in God’s dream, God gets involved in your dream.”

I am so pumped up, refreshed and renewed because of this past weekend and I am not going to let it last a few days or a week, I will continue to be so excited about what our God has done and is going to do in our city!

xoxo,
